I don’t think that I could offer you a better definition of the intentionality of ‘mindfulness’ than that put forward by the Vietnamese monastic teacher Thich Nhat Hanh, who says,
“Mindfulness shows us what is happening in our bodies, our emotions, our minds, and in the world. Through mindfulness, we avoid harming ourselves and others.”
